To appease our own mother, Dustin, we thought it wise to make the go home show an artsy, foreign discussion. It also helps that we're inspired by the upcoming remake of Suspiria. So, timeliness. This week, we talk all things Three Mothers. We also play our weekly game. This week, we discuss the Classic Horror Remakes we want, and the Directors we want behind the wheel. Green Room – GTGC #288

Part 3 of our 7th annual Shocktober Marathon sees us discussing Dalton's choice, Green Room. This Saulnier film is a favorite amongst the hosts, and we were each excited to revisit it. In this episode, we highlight our favorite cinematic musicians, in honor of the Ain't Rights. Then, we get into analysis. We talk about punk music and the subculture. We also discuss Saulnier's approach to violence. Finally, we end the conversation with a discussion of nazis, of course.

Paranormal Activity – GTGC #287

Episode 287 of the GenreCast continues the Shocktober 7 marathon with a look at Oren Peli's Paranormal Activity from 2007. Dustin decided ghosts and found footage was the way to go for the second entry in our 7th annual Shocktober marathon. We quickly discuss whether we like the film or not, and then break into our game. This week's game is a discussion of our favorite cinematic demons. Finally, we get down to business to break open Paranormal Activity. Topics of found footage, film mythos, masculinity and more come up as we discuss Oren Peli's Paranormal Activity.

Episode 286 of the GoodTrash GenreCast kicks of the 7th Annual Shocktober Marathon. Each of the hosts have decided to pick a favorite horror film for the month before ending with something special. The boys set the spooky season into motion with Arthur's Shocktober pick, Gore Verbinkski's The Ring. In this episode, the boys discuss viral media, urban legends, parenting and much more. They also play their weekly game, this time discussing spooky technology. Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail and Joe Versus the Volcano, Pt. 1 – GTGC #284

Episode 284 is the first in a two part look at the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks Romantic Comedy Trilogy: Joe Versus the Volcano, Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail. We initially planned to only talk about Sleepless in Seattle then called an audible before recording. Similar to our Spider-Man Trilogy Two Parter, the first entry on the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan trilogy is our review and thoughts on the individual films and how they work together as a trilogy. We then play our game by recounting our favorite moments from the three movies. We don't hit many rom-coms on the show, but this week we made a very fun exception. How do these films hold up? Reign of Fire – GTGC #283

On Episode 283 of the GenreCast, the gang looks at the 2002 action-fantasy movie, Reign of Fire. Reign of Fire is set in the near future and stars Matthew McConaughey, Gerard Butler, and Christian Bale. This week, we quickly review Reign of Fire, and then play our game. GTGC #282 Revenge of the Green Dragons

We keep the Asian-cinema going this week with a look at a film distributed by wunderkind studio, A24. In recent years, A24 has become the new Miramax, boasting a near flawless record of critically-acclaimed indie darings. They made kicked off with a bang, dropping the cult hit Spring Breakers. But has their success and praise always been deserving? We go back to 2014, the second year of A24, and look at the 15th movie they distributed in that short time span, Revenge of the Green Dragons.
