A movie analysis show looking at your favorite cult and genre films from across cinema history. Each week, Dustin, Arthur, and Dalton try to apply academic rigor and critical analysis to the films you wouldn’t talk about in a film studies class while having a few laughs along the way. It’s the conversations you have in the lobby of the multiplex with a little more room to breathe, and the occasional footnote. Stay tuned to the feed for bonus episodes on new releases.

Hello space travelers! We are not replicants or manifestations, we're the real deal. And we're continuing our Sci-Fi AntiTrash run with the 1972 space mystery, Solaris from Andrei Tarkovsky. One of only seven feature films, Solaris is a heady trip dealing with major ideals. We bring it to the analysis table in an effort to figure out what's going on. We talk style, intertextual relationships, plot devices, horses, and forgiveness? Join us, if you will, for part three of this year's AntiTrash marathon!

It's time for our annual Antitrash Celebration! With prestige season in full effect, we look at the movies that probably will be discussed in a film studies course—and this month, we're going sci-fi with our picks. And we're kicking it off with one of the most influential films of all time, Fritz Lang's Metropolis from 1927. This bold work has inspired generations of artists, but how has it held up to time? The 2021 Shelvie Award Extravaganza
Thursday Dec 30, 2021
Thursday Dec 30, 2021
Happy New Year, dear friends! We're ringing out 2021 as we always do—The Shelvies! If this is your first time listening to The Shelvies, it's a look back at the year in GoodTrash as we reflect on all the movies we watched specifically for this show. It's not a "Best Movies of 2021". It's just a way for us to get an episode out without watching a movie. This is one we always recommed as a diving in point as it highlights the episodes we think were good and the movies that lent the most to the conversations. We'll be awarding our "Best Worst Movie", dropping the "Hebrew Hammer", discussing out "Favorite Discovery", and much more before we place the best titles of the year on the Platinum Shelf.
Thanks for another year with us, we hope you've enjoyed our selections, our conversations, and our silliness. Here's to another year! We'll be back next week to kickstart our 2022 Antitrash Marathon, where things get scientific.

We quickly discuss those reviews before turning to our analysis analyzer (cop lingo) to crack open the interior of this one. We're talking cop comedies, Melissa McCarthy, Paul Feig, allyship, the issue of a minor subplot involving a serial killer, and we take a look at the Wayans Family Tree.
