Shock10ber: Rise of the Remakes continues on this week with the 2004 take on George Romero's classic, Dawn of the Dead. Notable as the first feature film from an unknown director named Zach Snyder, Dawn of the Dead also aided in reviving the zombie genre for a new generation. We talk about formalism and realism, whether the movie is too thin or if it does have something to say, the approach to fast and slow zombies, and much, much more as we take on this reanimated remake.
